• Day Four of Christmas Cookies

Welcome back to day four! Are you getting into the Christmas spirit? We are in full on Christmas mode here, of course the snow outside has helped. We have our tree and our entire house has been decorated. I love it, this time of year is magical and I love everything that comes with it. Of course, baking is a huge part of it and this post series is really helping me maintain the holiday cheer and my family is pretty jolly too with all these yummy treats in the house! Today’s recipe contains flavors that are a must have for me this time of year! I usually make gingerbread…

  • Day Three of Twelve Days of Cookies

Happy day three of December! This recipe came from my need for lemon! I love lemon desserts especially around the holidays. Growing up every Thanksgiving and Christmas while my grandma was alive she would make a lemon meringue pie, actually she would make two, one for the family gathering and one for me to hide in the fridge and enjoy the few days after. After she passed away, my husband knew I missed her and started making me a lemon pie for my birthday every year. Now, every year on my birthday, I have a dear friend who makes me some sort of lemon pie or cheesecake, I am so…

  • Day Two of the Twelve Days of Cookies

Hi again! Did you enjoy yesterday’s recipe? I am having so much fun baking and tasting all these yummy cookies for you all, pretty selfless on my part don’t you think? hehe Any cookie list I make is not complete without this one, the favorite of everyone I have ever made it for. I get requests throughout the year but especially around Christmas! It isn’t complicated but involves a special ingredient that not everyone knows to put in a cookie and that is bread flour, it really takes the chewiness to a whole other level! Trust me! It will still taste fine with all-purpose flour but for once give it…

  • Day One of the Twelve Days of Cookies

Happy December! One of my favorite times of the year, not only because it is my birthday month but it also is the time of year where we pause and celebrate the birth of Jesus! December and Christmas time always involves baking and eating, can I get a woohoo!!! Once Thanksgiving hits all I can think about is baking and of course eating all the things! I do a lot of baking throughout the year but I do so much more this season. Baking for gifts is personal and I love to see people’s faces light up and really enjoy my baked yummies! I hope you enjoy the next twelve…

  • Rice free Kimbap

Hi friends! We discovered Kimbap through friends of ours. The mom is from South Korea and has introduced us to so many yummy Korean foods. Some are a bit too spicy for me but my heat-loving husband and son adore the spicy things. Kimbap is not a spicy dish but you can add a spicy sauce. A little history behind Kimbap, it is made a lot for picnics or other outings because it is so portable. It does take a little bit of time but trust me, friends, it is SO worth the effort! It is traditionally made with rice, meat, vegetables wrapped in roasted seaweed sheets. I simply took…

  • New Adventure

Hi friends! It has been a while since I have posted a recipe and I have to apologize to my regular readers! Sometimes you are gliding along on one path and think it is where you are supposed to be and what you are supposed to be doing and then all of a sudden an opportunity, a different path, is thrust in front of you. I made the decision to follow the opportunity and take on a new career path and I couldn’t be happier and more excited! I started this blog in April and I absolutely love blogging and sharing my recipes with you. I love all the wonderful…

  • Salsa

There are many salsas out there but only a few I absolutely love and crave. There is an organic one I can get at our local grocery store that I like a lot but the price, sadly, is not in my budget. I have finally come up with a recipe for my own that is great and doesn’t cost me a lot, especially when I use the tomatoes and peppers from my garden and CSA. This recipe makes about 3 pints of salsa, I doubled it so I could get 6 pints and I used my water bath canner so I could use up all my fresh tomatoes. If this…

  • Pumpkin Oat Pancakes – Gluten-free

I know, another pumpkin recipe, but seriously these are SO good! My family used to think that pumpkin is only good for pie but they ate and loved these pancakes and have finally said I should make MORE pumpkiny goodness! Yay, VICTORY, I have been trying for years to get them to accept pumpkin recipes other than pumpkin pie! I am going to ease into though because I don’t want to overwhelm them and then they are tired of pumpkin, which is something I will never understand because I love pumpkin!!! I should mention it’s nutritional value which is amazing: a great source of vitamin A, fiber, vitamin c, and…

This is one of my favorite breakfasts in the fall not only for the yumminess but the warmth and smell that comes from the kitchen while it is baking, pure fall bliss! This tastes so good with a cup of coffee and will keep you satisfied all morning long! I will be posting more fall favorites meanwhile tell me what is you favorite flavor of fall? Forever Grateful, Kelly  …

  • Gluten Free Apple Crisp

Hi friends! It is finally apple season here is upstate New York and I couldn’t be happier! It is one of my favorite times of the year. I love to go pick apples and share cider and cider donuts around a campfire, pure happiness! Love the simple pleasures my friend! One way we like to celebrate apple season is make some yummy apple crisp! I was feeling particularly appley the other afternoon so I decided to make it.
