Cacao, Nut Butter and Date Balls



Best snack ever, especially when you are craving something nutty and chocolatey. Basically most of my cravings involve chocolate and some sort of nut butter and this way I get to feel like I am cheating and eating something not so healthy but it isn’t bad for you! All three ingredients are wholesome and clean. That’s a win in my book!

I am sure there are other recipes like this out there and I have seen where you just use a nut butter and dates but my husband didn’t like how sticky they were so I tried rolling them in oats, which were ok but then the idea hit me to roll them in cacao powder. Best decision I ever made besides marrying my prince charming! If you ever get a craving for peanut butter cups and get sad when you look at their ingredient list whip up a batch of these and your craving will be satisfied. Trust me, these will not disappoint.

Nut Butter and Date Balls

1 cup pitted and roughly chopped medjool dates

1/2 cup nut butter (almond, cashew, peanut or whatever you like)

2 Tbsp cacoa powder


Process in a food processor or high speed blender the dates and nut butter and refrigerate for 1 hour. Form into balls and roll in cacoa powder. Pop back in fridge in an airtight container at least 1 hour and enjoy! Will store in fridge up to a week.
